Transitioning to DevOpsHi, I'm Takam Alex Christian — an impact-driven full-stack engineer with over four years of experience spanning web development, infrastructure architecture, and platform operations. I care deeply about building things that work — not just code that compiles, but systems that are reliable, maintainable, and solve real problems.
My Journey
Today, I'm a full-stack and platform infrastructure engineer at Molar Intelligence in Hangzhou, where I architect and deliver features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure for the Rex.zone platform. I built a custom CMS from scratch with a rich-text editor, automated publishing pipelines serving 200+ articles, and engineered monitoring layers with Prometheus and Grafana.
Before that, I took an intentional two-year pause from active development to complete my B.Eng. in Automation Engineering at Shanghai Dianji University and undertake intensive Mandarin Chinese immersion to transition into the Hangzhou technology sector.
Prior to that, I spent three years at Caelis Tech Studio SARL deploying modular, production-ready Node.js microservices and engineering responsive React frontend architectures from Figma design specs.
I got my start freelancing for Ipetrade SARL, where I integrated high-throughput fintech APIs — Orange Money and MTN Mobile Money — collaborating with cross-border development teams in Cameroon and China.
What I Care About
Building things that work. I prefer simple, boring technology over the newest hype. If a plain Postgres database and a well-structured Node app get the job done reliably, that's what I'll choose. Predictability is an underrated feature.
Learning in public. I started sharing what I'm learning because I've found that trying to explain a concept clearly is the best way to figure out if I actually understand it. This site is part of that commitment.
Growing as an engineer. I'm constantly exploring new tools and patterns — from WYSIWYG editors to task management apps to API design. I believe that being a good engineer is as much about communication and empathy as it is about technical skill.
Outside of Code
When I'm not at a terminal, I'm probably reading about system architecture, sketching out ideas for side projects, or exploring new tools and frameworks. I'm based in Hangzhou, China and currently work at Molar Intelligence. I believe the best solutions to tough technical problems usually come when you step away from the keyboard for a bit.
